Natasha's story: I first started to communicate with Aleksey through an internet dating site called FreeSpiritSingles in late October 2006.

We got along straight away and emailed each other daily for approximately two weeks before we started talking on the phone.

We got along so well when we talked on the phone we started to talk daily, sometimes three or four times in a day and on the weekends sometimes a couple of hours at a time.

On 25th December 2006 I went to Los Angeles to meet Alex. We knew we were right for each other pretty much straight away . we have many common interests and goals - we fell in love and decided within a week that one or the other of us would have to eventually look at moving country so we could be with each other. Alex arrived in Australia on 14th February this year and we have been living together since. We married on the 28th April and couldn't be happier.

Aleksey's story: I saw her sign into FreeSpiritSingles as a new user. I liked that she was laughing in her photo (I am in mine) and I wrote her a quick line, "welcome to the site and good luck in your search". She wrote me back quickly and lively, and I wrote her and in a couple of days we were on the phone and I was enchanted by her laugh. We talked again the following weekend and again I really enjoyed talking with her - and we started talking every day - and then we started talking three times a day (lunch break, dinner break, before going to sleep) and sending text messages back and forth.

After a couple of weeks, Tash said to me, "Alex, we have to meet. We just HAVE to." On another occasion, she said, it's too bad we are so far away. I said, far? It's not far. We just buy a plane ticket for one of us and jump on the plane and 12 hours later we are there.

On Christmas Day 2006, Tash arrived in Los Angeles for a 2 week visit. She told me, "Love involves an element of risk." This inspired me. We got married on April 28, 2007, and Natasha organized the wedding so beautifully that our caterer asked for permission to use the wedding photos to promote her catering business. Many of the guests remarked it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended.

And so we make our beautiful life, together at last.
